Logan City Council appoints Darren Scott as new CEO, two years after entire council was sacked

 Logan City Council has appointed a new chief executive, more than two years after the entire council was sacked during a corruption probe surrounding the dismissal of its former chief executive. 

The fall-out of the 2019 sackings led to multiple court cases, with the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission dropping fraud charges against eight former Logan councillors earlier this year.

Mayor Darren Power announced the appointment of experienced public servant Darren Scott on Monday.

 Brisbane woman Rachelle Swan hopes a new government subsidy for diabetes treatment technology will remove the stigma around the disease. Australians living with type 1 diabetes have access to more affordable Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology from today due to a government subsidy. This subsidy will save eligible individuals more than $2,000 each year. Previously, only those with eligible concession cards, children and young people aged 21 years and under, and women who were actively planning a pregnancy or pregnant, were able to access fully subsidised glucose monitoring technology.
